Costa Rican Adventure![]() DAY 1: Toronto – San José (D)Board your flight to San José, Costa Rica. After your evening arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Dinner will take place at La Cocina de Leña, a popular tourist spot. Overnight at the Vesuvio Hotel or similar. DAY 2: Poas Volcano – Quepos (B/L/D)An early start this morning to Poas Volcano National Park. You will partake in the San Mateao Canopy Tour, an exciting journey through the different layers of the virgin rain forests while expert guides explain what is going on around you. Enjoy close ups of the enormous crater with its deep green lake, perhaps you will even see one of its sporadic geyser-like eruptions. Continue on towards the town of Quepos, gateway to Manuel Antonio National Park. Dinner and overnight at Rancho Casa Grande or similar. DAY 3: Quepos / Manuel Antonio National Park (B/L/D)Quepos and Manuel Antonio are two separate but completely interdependent Central Pacific coast towns. Dense mangrove swamps sheltering a variety of wildlife back up to the pristine beaches in this area. Common sights on the beach are iguanas and white-faced monkeys. Today you will enjoy a full day in Manuel Antonio National Park. Relax and enjoy the famous Costa Rican coast line. Dinner and overnight at Rancho Casa Grande or similar. DAY 4: Arenal Volcano Area (B/L/D)This morning drive to the Arenal Volcano area. En route, stop in a local school where students get the opportunity to see how school is conducted in Costa Rica. Talk to their fellow students and exchange ideas. In the afternoon, visit the active Arenal Volcano itself and enjoy some relaxing time at the famous Tabacón Hot Springs where you will have dinner. Overnight at the Cabanitas Hotel or similar. DAY 5: Tortuguero (B/L/D)After breakfast at the hotel, check out and transfer by coach to the dock where you will take the boat to Tortuguero. The Tortuguero Canals, waterways crisscrossing a national park dedicated to the protection of endangered turtles. The area of Tortuguero is rightfully called “The Amazon of Costa Rica” because access is only by boat on Jungle Rivers. Upon arrival, check into the Turtle Beach Lodge. Located 5 miles north of the town of Tortuguero, it is a secluded resort spanning 175 acres with miles of jungle trails, a meandering private canal, and a half mile of beach adjoining still more isolated beaches. Dinner and overnight at Turtle Beach Lodge or similar. DAY 6: Tortuguero National Park (B/L/D)Today you will explore the park and have the opportunity to look for Sea Turtles. Watch their young as they hatch and scamper to the sea. Other common sights are Monkeys, three-toed Sloths, Toucans, and many exotic species of birds. Participate in some volunteer work at the Turtle Reserve and make a contribution to their project. Dinner and overnight at the Turtle Beach Lodge. DAY 7: San José (B/L/D)After breakfast at the hotel, check out and head back to the capital via one of the many Banana Plantations at the interesting port town of Limon. Continue on to San Jose and check into the Vesuvio Hotel for your last night in Costa Rica. This evening, enjoy a farewell dinner and more salsa dancing. Overnight at the Vesuvio Hotel or similar. DAY 8: San José – Toronto (B)This morning, you will rise early for breakfast and transfer to the airport for your flight back to Canada. INCLUSIONS:
